Join Laura Crow, Director of Costume Design, Department of Dramatic Arts and Curator, University of Connecticut Historical Clothing and Textile Collection, for a discussion of the role that dress played in Connecticut and New England from 1850 to 1900.

Family members of all ages will enjoy creative hands-on activities while learning about accessories, style and art of Victorian New England fashion.

Les Mélodies Françaises

This evening of beautiful French mélodies will include works from the 19th and 20th centuries and an American premiere of a new work. The music of Aboulker, Poulenc, Ravel, and Massenet will be performed by students in the Department of Music, Voice and Collaborative Piano Areas. The recital is the culmination of a week-long collaboration with composer-in-residence Madame Isabella Aboulker. The program is supported by the Beverly and Raymond Sackler Artist-in-Residence Fund.

Official start date for all fall semester positions will be the week of
August 25, 2008.

The museum is open to the public Tuesday - Friday 9:30-4:30 and Saturday and
Sunday 12:45-4:30. There will be no shifts available on Mondays as we are
closed to the public. Occasional evening shifts are required as our fall
event schedule takes shape.

Minimum 4 hours per week, maximum 10. May be multiple shifts as schedule
allows.

JOB: RETAIL ASSOCIATE – The Store

Requirements: Must have prior retail experience, and be
able to manage cash operations with minimal supervision. Must take/follow
all given verbal and written direction as well as to act independently as
necessary.

Description: Retail sales help, responsible for providing outstanding
customer service as well as maintaining the integrity of the retail sales
operation.

JOB: GALLERY ATTENDANT

Requirements: Must present well to the public, and be able
to clearly communicate information about the museum. Must be able to stand
for periods of 1 hour or more, be able to take/follow direction and be
attentive to detail.

Description: Responsible for the protection of the museum collection,
exhibits and the safety of visitors and staff.
